are on vacation, I very nearly made me a ride ... but not too far away for now and later. Sissi, who do I go to Nivolet, the sun and there should not be surprised as other times that I tried (cold polar wind, road closed ...).
To be honest the way I'm not mad, indeed, but the places are beautiful. For those who do not has never been any info and map:
I put Rivarolo as a starting point for those arriving Turin think it is a necessary step, from Pont onwards there are no more doubts, there is only one road and there is no danger of being lost ... ;)
As you can see the map for a long ride along the Gran Paradiso National Park, then to go in reaching Ceresole Reale. Ceresole deserves a quite ride, many times is the goal, especially in summer days. The main feature is the lake, artificial reality as is the reservoir of a dam (such as the Mont Cenis). Peaceful, formerly part of the park, there is never too much confusion (I've never found at least) and it is truly a blessing to spend half a day out of the city. Just after
Ceresole is the road that goes to the park and leads to Nivolet. Be careful, the road is closed for summer holidays, during which we are obliged to come up with a shuttle. Weekdays but the road is open (it is closed in the winter from October to May, but the weather can I give up, even in summer!)
The first stage is the dam SerrĂ¹ at an altitude of about 2200 meters, this view of the road (actually well before the dam, but was stopped because had closed the road for 10 min):
Then you start to get really, and you meet another dam, and some natural lakes:
A very special step is highlighted by the arrow, on the one side of the street there is water ... but on the other there is nothing to prove!
The photos were taken from the highest point of the road (of nearly 2700 meters above sea level), but you can go ahead some more, where there is a refuge and another lake:
The peak is seen at the end is spectacular, as is was colored, I do not comment about him (I think the Gran Paradiso), here's a detail:
The road ends here, if you want you can continue on foot. Continue the way we might arrive in Val d'Aosta (in reality we are just on the border). Heard today that some foreigners were also convinced that we can get this far in Courmayeur, their maps were not detailed enough and probably do not realize that a missing piece of road.
If you want to do a lot of curves (forget the guards at the roadside) and see spectacular scenery, the Nivolet for you, if you come in the area is definitely a place to visit.
And then there are animals that are always happy to greet:
the next round / / Hello
